Glaminar Makeup Artistry

I started to love makeup back when I was still in college. Though I don't wear makeup everyday in school, I really wanted to know how to put on makeup. Then my cousin introduced to me Michelle Phan's youtube channel and I became hooked! Now that I have plenty of time and earning my own money, I can pursue my passion with makeup.
I also love reading beauty blogs. I always discover and learn new things from them. I wanted to learn more about makeup. I've encountered makeup schools but I am on a tight budget. A friend told me that makeup tutorials will do but I do believe that hands-on make up tutorial is still the best.

While blog hopping, I bumped into Celline's blog Product Arena by Celline and read about Glaminar MakeUp Artistry. I got curious and checked out their facebook page right away. They are offering makeup workshops for a reasonable price!
I registered right away when they posted their workshop schedule that worth only 1,500 pesos! Super affordable! I attended the workshop last November 18 and definitely learned a lot.
Here's a glimpse of what happened during our workshop.

I will write a detailed post about our workshop as soon as our photos are posted on their facebook page.

DIY: Make Up Brush Holder

Hi there! I'm totally back! Though my laptop keyboard is still broken, I will be writing blog posts again! I miss this so much. For my first post this November, I will be teaching you guys how to make your own brush holder that can be used for drying your make up brushes.
After washing your make up brushes, you must prevent the water from dripping down on your brush because it will loosen the glue holding the brush hair. Drying your brushes in a wrong position will definitely ruin it. But how will you dry your brushes in a right position (brush hair at the bottom) without ruining the shape of the brush?
This is why Sigma created Dry n' Shape. But it's so expensive! So why not make your own instead? It's just simple and cheap but you really a lot of effort for this. Do you want to know how I did mine? All you need are these things

Old binder, glossy folder, garter, cutter, scissors, needles and thread.
First, you must cut slits on your folder using a cutter.
Estimate the distance depending on the size of your brushes.
Next, you need to cut the garter into pieces depending again on the size of your brush handle. Make sure to make an allowance.
Insert the garters into their respective slits then sew both ends together.
Make sure to fit the brush handle first before sewing. It's okay to make it a little bit tight since you are using a garter.
Cut the excess garter.
After sewing all the garters, it will look like this.
Unlike Sigma's Dry and Shape, you will notice that this one will not cover the brush hair so the brushes will be air dried.

I used glossy folder so that the brush holder wont be ruined since wet brushes will be placed here.

Tada!

I hope this tutorial will help you preserve your brushes without spending too much.
:)
Good luck girls!!

lots of love,
rubyP.
